报告人简介

Ihsan Al-Shehbaz is a world expert on taxonomy of Brassicaceae (Cruciferae). He focused his researches on the phylogeny and systematics of the mustard family, which includes the model plant speciesArabidopsis thalianaand many food plants such as mustard, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, rapeseed and radish etc. Dr. Al-Shehbaz has desrcibed more than 800 new taxonomic names for plants and published more than 290 papers, he also authored the Brassicaceae chapter of many regional flora in Asia and Americas, such as Flora of China, Flora of North Amierica, Flora of Argentina, Flora of Japan, Flora of Nepal etc. Noteworthily, he acted for five years as a co-director of the Flora of China project, which unlocking the knowledge of China's great botanical treasures for the rest of the world.
